FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL — Commercial Energy Consultants (CEC) has locked in a new electric rate for a Metro East bowling alley that will save the business about $45,000 a year with the same power at a lower price.

Illinois is a deregulated electricity market. That means commercial and residential customers can keep Ameren’s wires and meters and still buy the power itself from a competitive supplier. CEC researches the bill, compares current supplier offers, and negotiates a rate. Nothing changes at the building except the cost.

“Why pay more for the exact same power,” said Mike Grimes, President of Commercial Energy Consultants.
Grimes said the bowling alley’s usage was large enough and consistent enough that a negotiated commercial rate beat the default utility price by a wide margin. CEC handles the paperwork with the supplier. The customer does not switch utilities and does not change equipment.

CEC works with both commercial and residential accounts in Illinois. Grimes reviews the actual bill and gives a straight answer on whether real savings are available. If the numbers do not work, he says so.
Commercial Energy Consultants is based at 15 Canty Lane in Fairview Heights and has helped local businesses and households shop electricity and natural gas since 2010.
